An external shutter does three things at once: it keeps summer heat outside, it cuts street noise year-round, and it turns a window into a far harder way in.
We fit both surface-mounted shutters, for existing windows, and built-in shutters that hide inside the insulation and are invisible from outside.

Surface-mounted or built-in?
A surface-mounted shutter fixes over the window frame. You see a 15–20 cm housing and it can go on at any time, including on an occupied house. It suits nine situations out of ten.
A built-in shutter is planned during construction or a thermal refurbishment: the housing sits inside the insulation and nothing shows from outside.
What it actually does for comfort
On large south- or west-facing windows, a shutter lowered through the peak hours makes a noticeable difference to room temperature. In winter, left down overnight, it adds a layer of air between the glass and the slats.
We will not quote you percentages on paper. We will tell you where it shows most: big windows, loft rooms, and anything facing the street.
Centralised control
If you are fitting shutters throughout the house, a centralised system earns its place: one button lowers everything, one raises everything, and the app can tie them to sunrise and sunset.
It is configured on installation day and it stays yours — no subscription involved.
Frequently asked questions
Can shutters go on a house that is already finished?
Yes, in the surface-mounted version. They fix to the frame or the wall and nothing gets broken open. One window takes about an hour.
Do shutters keep the cold out in winter?
They help noticeably, but they do not replace good windows. The biggest gain is in summer, when they stop the sun before it reaches the glass.
What if the power goes out while the shutter is down?
Every motor we fit has an emergency crank point. You take the crank, engage it in the eye under the housing, and wind the shutter up by hand.
How loud is the motor?
A good tubular motor sounds roughly like a bathroom extractor fan and runs for 15–20 seconds. For bedrooms we fit quiet-coupling versions, which are noticeably more discreet.
